As for the information covered at the meetings, here is a brief rundown for all potential Jones-Payton Swimmers.

1. The place to go for information regarding the team is jonespaytonswimming.com here you can find any and all team news, along with the team calendar, apparel, results, announcements, meet schedule, and more. Please check regularly as I will send out information as necessary.
   
2. Preseason workouts will begin on Tuesday 10/31 and will take place every Tuesday and Thursday until the start of the season (11/20) at 5:45-7:00 a.m. at Jones. These will be dryland workouts to hopefully help with strength and conditioning. I will also offer Sunday morning swims at Jones from 8:30-10 on 11/4, 11/11, and 11/18. These are completely optional, and those swimming with clubs are more than welcome (especially to dryland) but should stay with their clubs until the start of the high school season.
   
3. All swimmers were given IHSA pre-participation forms that need to be filled out prior to the start of the season. If an athlete has already competed in a sport this fall they are likely fine, but those that were not in a fall sport do need to schedule a physical and have the form filled out before they are able to get in the water on 11/20.
   
4. All swimmers were given concussion, performance enhancing drug, and transportation forms as well. These also need to be filled out and turned in on or before 11/20.
   
5. All swimmers also received a packet of introductory information, rules, goals, and and forms for acknowledgement. Please take the time to look through this information to understand the expectations, hopes, and goals for this upcoming season.
   
6. Practice starts at 4:00 on 11/20. I am still waiting for a final time for practice on 11/22, but we will have practice on 11/20-22 and will take a break the 23rd and 24th for Thanksgiving. I will then offer practice on 11/25 and 11/26. We will shift to our regularly scheduled practice schedule on 11/27 (the Monday after Thanksgiving)
   
7. I am also waiting to confirm all practice dates over the winter holiday break, however, please recognize that varsity members will have practice over the two week break. I understand there may be some holiday travel, but varsity members are expected to be at no fewer than 80% of practices over the winter break.
   
8. I would like to have a parent meeting at Jones for Payton and Jones parents on Thursday 11/16 at 6:00 in 5034. Hopefully this will be a chance to answer questions, get information out, and get to know many of you.  
   
9. I have posted dryland workouts for all athletes on the jonespaytonswimming.com website that can be modified for P.E. or can be done at a healthclub.
   
10. With that said, the only requirement is that every athlete orders a team suit. All other options are optional. ​
